ASSISTANT PRODUCER

Moogahlin Performing Arts is a leading NSW First Peoples arts organisation that produces local, regional, national, and international projects. We are a resident company at Carriageworks in Redfern where our office is based, and a company in residence at Blacktown Arts Centre. The Assistant Producer plays a vital role in the delivery of Moogahlin Performing Arts’ artistic program of new work development, gatherings & exchanges, touring, artist support, and sector development.

The Assistant Producer works closely with the Moogahlin Artistic Directorate and Managing Director. Major duties include assisting the development of new works through contracting artists, coordinating logistics, and preparing financial documentation, being responsible for coordinating the delivery of certain aspects of projects (public programming, venue communications, Elder care), producing smaller events such as opening nights, community functions, or workshops, participating in company planning discussions and evaluations of projects, and other project administration as required.

This is a part-time (3-day/week) position that may be required to scale up to full-time in busy periods. This is an identified position. Under Section 14 of the NSW Anti-Discrimination Act 1977, Aboriginality is a genuine occupational qualification. Applicants must have a current driver’s licence. Prior experience in First Peoples performing arts is desired.
